Sophie Moon
8/11/2009

The parents of Sophie Moon are saddened to announce that she went on her journey to the Rainbow Bridge on 11 August 2009, with her parents by her side.

Her parents brought her to her forever home on November 6, 2004, and all who knew her commented on what a gentle soul she was. Her needs were simple; a comfy couch to curl up on, especially if she could saddle up to one of her parents, non-stop belly rubs, an occasional neighborhood walk to ensure her presence was known to the general canine community, and all the animal crackers she could mooch from anyone. She always at least wanted to be able to see both parents, so she would often have to find strategic positions in her home to view them both. Her longer tail and shorter ears than typical Cockers made her special, along with her unique way of keeping a small portion of her tongue sticking out in front of her muzzle. Now that she has left, her home is so very quiet and she is deeply missed.

Sophie struggled for about 18 months with liver, spleen, and gallbladder issues. She tolerated all the poking and prodding these conditions necessitated with nary a complaint. Her parents want to thank all the caring doctors and staff at the Bay Creek Animal Clinic and the Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists. They all worked very hard to give Sophie as many breaks as possible, but in the end her body told us all that "it was time" for her journey. Her parents know she is now healthy, free of needles, and able to eat all the animal crackers she wants while she waits at the Rainbow Bridge for our eventual reunion.
