Oreo
9-23-2011

On this last day of summer, September 23, 2011, gentle Oreo took his last breath and quietly crossed the Rainbow Bridge. This was a day we new would come, this sensitive gentleman of undetermined age had grown weak and feeble. He had lost his sight and never quite recovered from the canine equivalent of a stroke he has suffered years before, but he still loved to be with his people and enjoyed being brushed and groomed.

Oreo was our second foster dog. He was timid and frightened and very very needy. We adopted him more than ten years ago and gave him a permanent home. Always the pacifist, he was quick to leave the area if an altercation arose between dogs, even if the dispute didn't involve him.

Farewell, loyal friend. You lived a long and happy life and now your time on this earth has come to an end. May you forever rest in peace.
