Lulu Belle
February 2008

One afternoon a little over a year ago, one of CSR's volunteers went to a shelter to look at a dog who was thought to be a cocker spaniel. That particular day, the smell of hair burning from the incinerator was so strong, our volunteer vowed that any dog that remotely looked like a cocker spaniel was coming out that day! That's the day LuLu Belle had a second chance at life. When a family member from Colorado visited LuLu's foster home, they were smitten with her from the moment she crawled up in their lap. A month later, LuLu was on a plane to Boulder, Colorado. LuLu was so happy in her new home….she went on regular walks and traveled everywhere with her new dad. Then, one afternoon, LuLu's dad noticed that she wasn't acting quite right. She was rushed to the vet but passed away in the vet's office from heart failure. Nobody really knew how old LuLu Belle was when she came into rescue, but there is no doubt that her last year was the best in her life! We never know how long we will have these furbabies but are so grateful for the time we do have with them.

LuLu Belle, you will be missed so much by your dad, your "grandparents" and your previous foster family. We know you are running and playing at Rainbow Bridge waiting to greet us all.
