Today, daddy carried our sweet Gertie to the Rainbow Bridge. We hoped she would wake up this morning feeling better, but that was not meant to be.

Her daddy held her as the shot was administered. She left peacefully...and finally her little body was no longer stiff, in pain...but very at ease. We saw her face not in pain for the first time.

Her daddy placed her in her final resting place, and she will have a beautiful view of the country and the cows.

Gertie is on of those dogs that touches your soul. we will never forget her. Out of all our dogs, the sickest one and the one in pain from arthritis, glaucoma, liver failure and cancer...our little Gertie never once complained.

We still look for her at her favorite place in the backyard.
