This is Taylor Anne's last litter of puppies. Never again will she be bred, thanks to Cocker Spaniel Rescue of East Texas.
Taylor Anne was part of a puppy mill raid a few months ago. When she came down with kennel cough at the shelter, CSR was asked
to take her. Within a few days we realized she was pregnant! Now the question was, "Who's the daddy?" Would she have pure
cocker babies or not?
Thankfully one of our foster homes was willing to take Taylor Anne and await the birth. We were concerned because it was
apparent Taylor Anne had not received much health care in the past - her skin was a mess, she probably developed kennel
cough because she wasn't immunized. She had bilateral cherry eyes, sorely needs a dental, and tested heavily heart worm positive.
On July 18, 2010 four healthy although small puppies were delivered. We have a black and white female, two black females and
one black male. Tails were docked and dewclaws removed. On September 1 they received their first set of puppy shots.
In the following pictures the puppies are six weeks old (August 29) and look to be purebred Cocker Spaniels. Adorable, aren't they?
Taylor Anne is 3-4 years old. She is sweet, easy going and housebroken. She has been a good mom to her puppies. It will be several
months before Taylor Anne is ready for adoption. She will soon be spayed and then start heartworm treatment. We anticipate she will
be ready around mid-November.
BUT . . . if you are interested in one of Taylor Anne's puppies, now is the time to submit an application. We scrutinize
prospective puppy homes very carefully and there are special conditions. The puppies will be available around September 10, 2010.
