Mild mannered Elwood Dowd was friends with a pooka named Harvey. Elwood's Harvey took the form of a six foot, four and a half inch invisible rabbit. Because of his relationship with Harvey, Elwood's sanity was questioned. The Harvey staying at the Cocker Inn has his own invisible demon. Harvey chases shadows. To the point of an obsessive compulsion. Harvey has been to a specialist but the cause of Harvey's shadow chasing was not determined. Some dogs are tied to trees, locked in crates or "tortured" with laser lights and this can be the cause of shadow chasing...but we will never know the cause for Harvey. Harvey is a young, loving guy who gets along well with all other animals, loves humans and is doggie door trained. He is taking medication and also has a pile of toys to keep him busy. Please Santa, bring Harvey a home with someone who has the time to take Harvey on walks, play with activity toys. To just love him and see what a beautiful soul he has.

Pretty woman, walking down the street,
pretty woman, the kind I'd like to meet,
Pretty woman, I don't believe you it must be true,
No one could look as good as you! MERCY

Like Julia Roberts, our Julia is one pretty woman! At three years old, this gorgeous girl is considered a Chocolate and Tan Roan, a very rare and unique combination for this breed. She came to us from a local animal shelter and is in search of her Prince Charming and fairy tale ending.

Pretty woman won't you pardon me,pretty woman I couldn't help but see,
Pretty woman, oh you look lovely as you could be,
Are you lonely just like me
Adrrrrr...

Carl is a 2-3 year old long tall Texan who came to us from deep in the Valley of south Texas. He was a resident of a Valley shelter, and the volunteers there loved him so much that they were willing to drive him to Houston in hopes of finding him a forever home through Cocker Spaniel Rescue. We can see why they loved him so much. He truly is a charmer. While is is a special treasure but would do best in a home without small children. Oompa Loompa doompaddee-do. We have Willie Wonka for you. Willie is a silly black and white male, approximately five years of age, who is as sweet as a chocolate factory and loves everyone. He has a flowing long natural tail and is one happy little guy. As Willie Wonka said, "If you want to view paradise, simply look around a view it." This little guy came from an animal sanctuary in Corpus Christi and is enjoying every minute of paradise at the Cocker Inn. He loves to romp and play and be the bubbly little guy that he was meant to be.

"A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men." -Willie Wonka

If you're looking for a well seasoned perfect gentleman, with no clowning around, then it may sound cheesy, but "you deserve a break today" with our Big Mac. Mac is a black male who was one of our cockerkids several years ago but came back to us because his owner could no longer take care of him. He has a supersized personality and we're totally "lovin' him". So if you're looking for a great, laid back dog to hang out, with then move your sesame seed buns and "get up and get away" to have a happy meal with our Big Mac. If you're looking for a real Sunny Delight, meet Sonny. Sonny is a delightful 4-5 year old male who came to us after being abandoned at a local vet clinic. He has recently finished heartworm treatment and is ready to move on to his forever home.

Seraphina slipped into rescue by the tip of her broken tail. A cheerful, fun-loving little lady who charmed everyone at adoptions, ironically was deemed aggressive (probably because she was scared to death) at a local shelter and thus labeled unadoptable. CSR saw the potential of this delightful 10 to 12 month old girl who weighs just 16 pounds. She's buff in color, with a natural tail with a funny little hook at the end. She has a field look with short hair on the front of her legs and feathers on the back. Sera is quite intelligent. She learned the nuances of a doggy door in no time and she picked up on the "kennel up" command when the food dishes come out. She's alert and curious and she seems to like watching YouTube videos of playful kittens.

Kokoa is Mr. Personality. Kokoa is a very intelligent dog and is a very clever at problem solver. He can figure out how to reach items you'd think were well out of his reach. He has a vertical leap that any basketball coach would admire. This six year old sable and white has a gorgeous coat. He loves to be in the middle of household activity. It takes a while for Kokoa to make friends, but once he is convinced a human is worthy, he becomes very devoted and protective. He does have a few trust issues with men, but dearly he loves his foster "uncle." Kokoa needs a home that is dog savvy and who will love his energy.

Donovan is a two year old male. He has such a handsome red coat, he's frequently called Redmon around his foster home. Donovan is an active, alert fellow with a touch of obsessive-compulsive disorder. Seriously. He's taking busprione twice a day to help him focus. Good 'ol Bobby Jack is an exuberant young male who needs a little training. He's only a year old or so and still learning that it's wrong to walk on the kitchen table. He's still baffled by the doggy door, but we're sure he'll catch on. He has lots of energy and a loving personality. You'll love this boy once you meet him.

Rudy is a senior resident of the Cocker Inn who is looking to join a loving family to live out his days. He is a lovable little guy who has been there, done that and would love to just hang out, watching TV with his human. Although he doesn't much care for cats, he gets along well with other dogs. He LOVES LOVES LOVES bones, rawhide chews and he's quite a chow hound. Though he is great shape, he has a slight heart condition which requires medication twice a day but this sweet guy knows how to use a doggy door and appears to be house trained. If his perfect family is reluctant to adopt, they could welcome him into their home under the "Forever Foster Program." In that case, Cocker Spaniel Rescue of East Texas provides medical care and all you provide is food and a loving home.

In Sanskrit, Lila means "play" or "amusement." That definition certainly fits this little five-year old black and white sweetheart who has personality to spare! Lila checked in to the Cocker Inn with some skin issues, but with good nutrition and a few weeks of rejuvenating spa treatments, she's ready to give you a case of the giggles with a mere tilt of her pretty little head!
